This Section Is Dedicated To Our
Loved Ones Who Have Crossed The Rainbow Bridge.

When I decided to put up this part of the web site, I knew it would be a very emotional experience, and it has been. Each of our critters touched our lives in a profound way. They are and forever are our friends, their bodies may be gone from this Earth but our love lives on.

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other.

There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on Earth. So, each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! The nose twitches! The ears are up! The eyes are staring! And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you take him or her in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never to be separated.

DUPAGE COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL

Stray animals are held for seven days to give owners a chance to find them.
If an animal has identification, the owner is immediately notified.
If not reclaimed after seven days, the animal will either be euthanized or kept until adopted.
Animals up for adoption are cared for at the shelter until a responsible home can be found.
While there is no specific limit on the amount of time an animal is available for adoption, it is not unlimited. Euthanasia may be in the best interest of some animals after an extended stay at the shelter.
On average, it takes two weeks to find an adoptable pet a responsible home.
Over 75% of stray dogs and 99% of stray cats sheltered at DCAC have no identification, decreasing the animals' chances of being reunited with owners.
For your pet's sake, make sure it wears an ID tag at all times.
Microchipping is a great way to permanently, positively identify your pet, should your pet ever become lost or stolen.
